The Multiplate® analyzer is used in a variety of applications:
- Monitoring of platelet inhibitors: The instrument shows an excellent sensitivity towards the inhibitory action of Aspirin®, Clopidogrel and GbIIb/IIIa antagonists.
- Assessment of perioperative platelet function disorders: The ability to analyze blood without time-consuming centrifugation steps makes it possible to test for platelet function in a near-patient environment.
- Screening for platelet defects: Platelet defects like Glanzmann´s thrombasthenia or the Bernard-Soulier syndrome can be detected directly in whole blood.
- Platelet function diagnostics in children: Due to the low test sample requirement (only 0.3 ml per test) Multiplate® analysis is well suited for the evaluation of platelet function in children.
- Experimental models and animal models: Multiplate® is used by many academic pharmacological departments and drug companies for the experimental assessment of platelet function in general and platelet function inhibitors in particular. Blood of mice, rats, dogs and other animal species can be analyzed.
